Single Origin vs. Post Blend

Single Origin vs. Post Blend

Single Origin vs. Post Blend

Single Origin means:

Your coffee comes from one specific place, one country, one region, one crop.

From Colombia to Kenya to Indonesia, each origin has its own climate, elevation, soil, and humidity… which creates its own distinct flavor profile.

Similar to a single malt scotch or single vineyard wine:

Single origin coffee highlights the distinct flavors of where it was grown, making each cup a unique experience.

So what about blends?

At TLC Roasters, we do things differently.

While large producers often pre-blend and roast everything together (they also commonly add Robusta beans to cut costs) we post-blend all organic, Arabica beans, which is the higher quality, more intentional approach.

That means:

We roast each organic single origin separately, then blend them after roasting, once they’ve had time to settle.

Why?

Because it allows each bean to reach its full potential before becoming part of something bigger.

The result:

✨ More distinct flavor

✨ Better roast profiles

✨ Elevated aroma

✨ A smoother, more balanced cup

We only use 100% high-quality arabica beans, no shortcuts, no fillers.

It may take more time + care, and costs a little more, but it is well worth it!! At TLC Roasters we prioritize quality over convenience, all day every day.
